Committees

Social Events Committee

The Social Committee is a standing committee of RCB established to foster a sense of community and engagement among members, residents, and their families. The Committee helps plan, coordinate, and oversee social events and activities throughout the season, including weekly activities, seasonal events, community gatherings, educational workshops, clean-up days, and other activities unique to Roy Carpenter’s Beach.

The Committee also helps develop the seasonal events calendar, recruit event chairs and volunteers, coordinate with management, vendors, and volunteers, communicate upcoming events, gather feedback, and report regularly to the Board of Directors. The Social Committee is a volunteer committee focused on community connection and does not conduct official Board or Members’ business.

Members of the social committee are: Rachel Smith, Darian Stewart, Diane Farber & Patty Landy

Questions about events and Fire Barn rentals can be directed to: rcba240@gmail.com.

Architectural Control Committee

ACC

The Architectural Control Committee, or ACC, supports the Board of Directors by reviewing member applications for cottage repairs, renovations, additions, alterations, and improvements to cottages or common areas. The ACC helps ensure that proposed work is consistent with RCB’s governing documents, architectural guidelines, safety expectations, environmental considerations, and the unique character of RCB. Applications reviewed by the ACC may include plans, drawings, site details, materials, construction timelines, permits, and other information needed to evaluate the proposed work. The ACC considers factors such as compliance with RCB rules, harmony with surrounding cottages, impact on neighboring owners, structural soundness, parking, access, and preservation of the beach community’s aesthetic and environmental quality.

The ACC provides written recommendations to the Board of Directors, which makes the final decision on applications. All work must be approved prior to submitting plans to the town for permitting. Applications are available from the General Manager.

Members of the ACC are: Rob Walker, Dan McKenna, Beth Moore, Joe Mele
